Almost every post mentioned the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone, especially during this time in your academic career. Although this is something I have heard since entering college, it’s usually said by professors and seldom your peers. Being new at something is terrifying and overwhelming, but to know that there were students before me in the same position who are now encouraging my peers and myself to do things even more terrifying and overwhelming, as strange as it may seem, is fairly comforting. If trying new methods and constantly pushing yourself to do new and better things is encouraged, I feel grateful that I am in a department which will foster this kind of thinking for the rest of my undergraduate career.
