The reason why I decided to major in graphic design is because I have always been passionate about art and design, but I didn’t want to be an art major. I love interior design (helping my mom redecorate the house), fashion, media, technology, and making the ideas in my head come to life. I have taken art classes since I was in elementary school all the way up to AP art during my senior year of high school. I remember having an overwhelming feeling of joy whenever I finished a project I had been tediously working on for weeks. When I reached senior year it was also the year that my cousin got her nursing degree. It made me reflect on what I wanted to do with my life and if art and design could be something I could pursue as an occupation. As my friends started applying to business schools I knew I could not see myself pursuing business or occupations in medicine. I knew I wanted to continue my passion for art and design and found that graphics was the perfect fit for me. I look forward to learning more about the programs we use, from your experience as a designer, and understanding how I can best utilize the tools available to me in order to bring my visions to life.
And I’m looking forward to helping you discover all that. :) Glad you stuck to your guns and now find yourself somewhere you want to be. We’re happy to have you.
