I chose to major in graphic design because I missed designing when I entered Syracuse University majoring in just marketing. I attended a design-focused high school, studying fine arts and architecture. But I decided that I did not want to pursue a career in architecture, so I thought I could drop art and go into business. After a year of only business classes, I started to miss being creative. So I applied to Newhouse for the graphic design program to dual major. I figured that studying both business and communication would be useful in finding a job in the future. I love how graphic design can be applied to different fields and it is growing quickly. I hope that I can be innovative in my designs and perfect my skills through this course.
