Looking through advice from past students, I was most drawn to the idea that “design is art with a purpose.” Creating designs that exude passion and expression is the intent, to tell a story for a client that will communicate with an audience. I’m looking forward to crafting designs that are both creative and functional. I’m hoping to create designs that I’m passionate about that serve their purposes completely and are not simply pleasing to the eye. Being able to tell a story, the right story, is an integral piece of design. This semester, I’m excited to push myself to remember the initial purpose of each design.
